From My Garden – Day 20 – Cotopaxi Volcano

I am always saying from my garden, not of my garden and today’s photo is a view from my garden. The Cotopaxi Volcano in the Cotopaxi Province, Ecuador. This volcano is a stratovolcano with a height of 5,897 m (19,347 ft). Last August 2015 it woke up again and this photo was taken yesterday when it decided to huff and puff a little. Taken from my front garden.

Fireworks in the Highlands of Ecuador

Fireworks, Cruz Loma Village, Cotopaxi Province, Ecuador, shot during the local festivites.

All villages here have their festivities, mostly with fireworks, food, dancing, village bulls and loads of fun. They sometimes last a few days sometimes just the one, it all depends on the village. But they are all fun and there is loads of local participation. This is a photo of fireworks, taken from fairly close by, tripod and f/5.6,  1/2.5  shutter speed,

There is a man in the middle of all the sparks.

They build large structures called castles, this one having six levels, and on each is an array of fireworks. This particular design also rotated.
